Christopher Martins Christmas Run for Children 5K
The event is a 5K road run held on December 6, 2026 in New Haven, CT at Christopher Martins Restaurant, 860 State Street. The event supports a toy drive for needy children in the New Haven area; over the years the race has collected more than 60,000 toys.
Organizers offer a discounted entry fee of $25 for participants who donate an unwrapped toy by mail using a printable form; discounted mail-in entries must be received by December 1 and this discount is not available online. Toys may also be dropped off during early packet pick-up or at Christopher Martins Restaurant on race day. Donating a toy at packet pick-up also provides a 20% discount at Woodbridge Running Company.
All participants receive a long sleeve technical shirt. The course returns to a previous route because of construction on State Street; an updated course map is provided by the organizers. Parking is available on State Street and in surrounding neighborhoods including East Street.
The event includes a post-race party with an awards ceremony and beer for participants aged 21 and up provided by New England Brewing Co. Awards include gift certificates for first overall male and female finishers, gift cards for the top three finishers in each age group, and awards for the top three non-binary finishers.
