Event overview
Christopher Martin's Christmas Run for Children is a road 5K held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in New Haven, CT. The flat 5K course starts at Christopher Martin’s Restaurant on Upper State Street, runs into Downtown New Haven and the Wooster Square neighborhood, and returns to the restaurant. All participants receive a custom pint glass with their race bib. Long sleeve tech tees are available for purchase during registration for $20; a limited number will be sold on race weekend.
Charity, logistics and extras
The event collects toys for local children in partnership with a New Haven toy drive; over 50,000 toys have been donated through the event’s history. Participants who mail a printable application and an unwrapped toy can register with a discounted fee of $25 if the mail-in entry is received by December 1. Toys may also be dropped off during early packet pick-up or at Christopher Martin’s Restaurant on race morning. Early packet pick-up is at Woodbridge Running Co., 7 Landin St., Woodbridge, CT, on the Friday and Saturday before the race.
The post-race celebration will take place outdoors and will include refreshments, live entertainment, an awards ceremony, and complimentary beer for participants age 21 and over. Parking is available on State Street and in nearby off-street neighborhood areas. Prizes include gift certificates for the first overall male and female finishers, age-group gift cards for top three finishers, and awards for the top three non-binary finishers.
