About the race
The Christchurch Motorway Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 28 February 2027 at Canterbury Agricultural Park, Curletts Road, Hillmorton, Christchurch. The event uses the Christchurch Southern Motorway cycle and walking paths and features a start and finish at the Canterbury A&P Park.

- Half Marathon : 21 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Kidz Dash : 2 km for 7 to 12 year olds
The course is an out-and-back route along motorway pathways with no vehicle traffic on the course. There is one Stop/Go control at the Marsh's Road crossing on the half marathon route. Kilometre markers are provided for the half marathon, and drink stations are located at approximately 4 km, 9 km, 12 km and 17 km.
The event includes dedicated categories for walkers and a hybrid option for the 21 km distance that allows participants to mix running and walking. Walkers and hybrid participants start before runners. Participants are asked to be aware of others on course and for runners to pass walkers considerately.
