Chris Kelley Memorial 5K
The Chris Kelley Memorial 5K is scheduled for the evening of June 27, 2026, at Brushy Creek Amphitheater (Adam Orgain Park) in Hutto, Texas, at 1001 County Road 137. The event is held to honor the life of Detective Sergeant Chris Kelley, who was killed in the line of duty eleven years earlier. It is presented as an all-abilities, family-friendly gathering and will proceed rain or shine.
Participants include runners, walkers and strollers. This year walkers who register as walkers will complete a one mile course instead of the full 5K to allow more time for post-event activities. Youth registration covers ages 3 through 18; children under 3 are free.

First responder teams can enter a team challenge with five-person teams competing for an annual trophy. Virtual participation is also available for those who are not local. After the event there will be food trucks, sponsor and vendor booths, live music and children’s activities; attendees may bring blankets or chairs for seating. Event shirts will use a new Gildan brand, which organizers describe as thicker than the previous year, and there is a t-shirt deadline of June 8.
