Cholangiocarcinoma, or bile duct cancer, is described as a rare and aggressive cancer that forms in the thin tubes that carry digestive fluid from the liver to the small intestine. It typically affects people over 50 and often remains undetected until advanced stages, when symptoms such as jaundice can appear. Around 15,000 people are diagnosed with this disease in the United States each year and treatments can include surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.
