Chilly Half Marathon, Burlington Ontario
The Chilly Half Marathon takes place in Burlington, Ontario, with the start area located near Burlington City Hall on Brant Street. The course distance is 21.0975 km and is certified by Athletics Canada, certificate number ON-2013-092-BDC. The route runs along parts of the downtown and the waterfront and is described as fast and flat.
The event offers both an in-person race and a virtual option. The virtual race can be completed between February 26 and March 17, 2027; virtual participants receive a finisher shirt and medal. Registered in-person runners receive a race kit that includes a technical running shirt, timing bib, and goodie bag. Kits can be mailed for an additional fee. Baggage check is provided inside the Burlington Arts Performing Centre with the Air Cadets for a CA$5 donation.
Public parking is available nearby and is free on weekends; examples of lots listed are Caroline St Lot #8 and Locust Lot #7. Shuttle bus service is available from partner hotels, Nickel Brook Brewery, Burlington GO Station and the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. The course is open for 3.5 hours and runners must complete the race in 3 hours 30 minutes or less.
Water stations providing water only are located at Guelph Line, Walkers Line, Appleby Line and Burloak Drive. Portable toilets are placed at several locations along Lakeshore and other key junctions. Fundraising for the event supports the Mental Health and Addictions Program at Joseph Brant Hospital and Hamilton Food Share. Non perishable food items will also be collected and donations of CA$20 or more may receive a tax receipt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
