Chili Chase - Durango
Chili Chase takes place on October 17, 2026 in Durango, Colorado at 1205 Camino Del Rio, 81301. The event combines a trail run through Overend Mountain Park with a community chili cookoff at the finish.
The running course covers 6.75 miles (about 7 miles) and includes just over 1,500 ft of elevation gain. The 2026 route has been adjusted to avoid construction on Roosa Ave and follows trails that pass over the Hogsback formation in Overend Mountain Park.
Registration for runners opens on August 1, 2026 and closes on September 1, 2026; the stated registration fee is $40. Chili chefs may enter the cookoff at no charge and bring a chili entry for judging; a Chili Cookoff Champion Belt is awarded to the winning entry. The event is presented by The Durango Running Club and Backcountry Experience, and proceeds benefit The Good Food Collective.
