Chili Bowl Classic

The Chili Bowl Classic takes place in Cleveland, Ohio, marking its 40th anniversary in 2027. The event is centered at the Hofbräuhaus Cleveland, located at 1550 Chester Avenue. The course for the main running event is described as relatively flat and fast, with the start and finish lines positioned on Chester Avenue just past East 18th Street.

Participants can choose from the following options:

  • 5K (3.1 miles)
  • Spectator Package

The 5K is open to both runners and walkers. Registered participants in the running category receive a race shirt and access to the post-race chili. The Spectator Package is available for those who wish to attend without participating in the race; this option includes a choice of mug and chili tasting but does not include a shirt.

Following the race, attendees can consume chili prepared by members of the Cleveland Police and Fire Departments. The event also features a Stein Holding Contest, which is held as a separate competition from the running race. Proceeds from the stein holding entry fees are directed toward the Cleveland Police and Fire Department’s charities, and winners of this contest receive gift cards to the venue. Registration and packet pickup are conducted inside the Hofbräuhaus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
