Chili Bowl Classic 5K, 40th anniversary
The Chili Bowl Classic is a community 5K held in Cleveland at Hofbräuhaus Cleveland, 1550 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114. The event marks its 40th anniversary and includes a road race on a course the organizers describe as relatively flat. The race starts and finishes on Chester Avenue just past E. 18th.
Registration opens October 1, 2026. Fee tiers are listed by the organizer: an Early Bird rate of $30 through November 29, a Regular rate of $35 from December 1 through February 11, and a Late rate of $40 from February 12 through race day. A Spectator Package is offered for $15; it does not include a race entry or shirt but includes a choice of mug and a chili tasting. Entries are non refundable. Entries may be transferred to another person through the race registration profile before race day; transfers are not allowed on race day.
Additional activities run alongside the race. A stein holding contest is a separate entry and carries its own fee; proceeds benefit Cleveland Police and Fire Department charities. Race shirts are not mailed; shirts may be picked up at designated packet pickup locations prior to the race or from the organizer's office after the event.
