Chicks on the Run 5K & Honor Walk
The Chicks on the Run 5K is an inaugural event held at Barleycorn's Brewhouse in Wilder, Kentucky. This event supports local breast cancer patients through the organization Chicks & Chucks, Inc. The race follows a scenic course on paved roadway surfaces. Participants can choose between several different event formats:
- 3.1 Miles: A timed competitive race for both runners and walkers.
- 1 Mile: An untimed Honor Walk focused on supporting those affected by cancer.
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual): An option to complete the distance at any location.
The 3.1 Miles race features overall and age group awards, with categories ranging from 0-19 to 70+. Every participant who completes either the live 5K or the 1 Mile Honor Walk receives a finisher's medal. The event welcomes participants of all abilities, and dogs on fixed length leashes as well as strollers are permitted on the course.
General parking is located at Frederick's Landing, where a shuttle service provides transport to and from the brewery. A post-race celebration takes place inside Barleycorn's Brewhouse, featuring food and a pink cream ale brewed specifically for this occasion.
