Chichester Harbour Chidham Trail Run
The event follows trails around the Chidham Peninsula beside Chichester Harbour, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The route uses quiet trails and coastal paths with views across Chichester Harbour toward Bosham Hoe, Itchenor, East Head and the South Downs. At low tide there is a short foreshore crossing on parts of the course.
Two distances are offered:
- 21.3 km Half Marathon
- 16.1 km Medium route
Both routes are relatively flat with modest elevation gain (approximately +65 m for the half and +50 m for the medium route) and are graded 2 out of 5 for difficulty. The event is chip timed and the route is fully signed. On-course support includes water stations, refreshments, first aid cover and marshals. Finishers receive a high-quality metal medal, a finisher goodie, a refreshing drink and a personalised certificate. An event photographer will record the day.
The event notes a plastic free approach and asks participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle for water stations. One dog per runner is permitted on Canicross events. Spectators are welcome. The organiser lists more than 1,000 runners expected and indicates the event has run for over ten years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
