Chi-Care 5K Run/Walk
The event takes place at Montrose Harbor in Chicago on September 27, 2026. It includes in-person and virtual options organized by Chi-Care, a nonprofit that operates mobile meal routes and wellness services for people experiencing homelessness across Chicagoland.

The in-person 5K is chip timed and carries a registration fee of $35. Children who want a timed result are advised to register for the 5K rather than the kids dash. The kids dash is for ages 4 to 12, is untimed, and features different short distances by age group that finish at the same finish line. The kids dash fee is $20.
The virtual 5K has a separate registration fee of $45. Virtual participants will receive a shirt and a medal mailed to them after the event.
Registration for the in-person events opens April 14, 2026 and closes June 28, 2026. Virtual registration opens April 14, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. Chi-Care distributes over 1500 meals each week and provides water, hygiene kits, snacks, socks, underwear, jackets, blankets, propane, and heaters. The organization also takes part in weekly wellness fairs offering meals, harm reduction supplies, healthcare, and housing assistance.
