Chi-Care 5K Run/Walk : Montrose Harbor, Chicago
The event takes place on September 27, 2026 at Montrose Harbor in Chicago and includes in-person and virtual race options. The main in-person distance is a chip-timed 5K run/walk. A separate Kids Dash for ages 4 to 12 is offered as an untimed short run that finishes at the same finish line. A virtual 5K option is available; virtual participants will receive a shirt and medal mailed after the race.

Chi-Care is the organizing group and operates a mobile service that provides warm meals and supplies to people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity across Chicagoland. Since 2020 the organization has expanded its work and now serves over 2,000 hot meals every week. Services delivered on mobile routes and at weekly Wellness Fairs include water, hygiene kits, snacks, socks, underwear, jackets, blankets, propane and heaters, harm reduction supplies, healthcare referrals, and housing assistance.
