Run for #1 – Annual 5k Event
Run for #1 is scheduled for September 19, 2026 at Central High School, 5500 Education Drive in Cheyenne. The event is a community 5k that raises funds to provide classroom grants through the Cheyenne Schools Foundation for Laramie County School District #1. The event will be professionally timed by Big Horn Racing and results will be posted to Race Entry.
Registration information for 2026 is published for three age groups: adults (age 18 and older) with a fee of $35, students (age 6 to 17) with a fee of $15, and children age 5 and under who do not require registration. Paid registrations receive a 30th anniversary hat. On race day registration takes place in the Commons Area with entry through the main entrance.
The course begins near Riske Field, follows the Greenway to Mylar Park and returns to the start area. Organizers will provide crackers, water, and fresh fruit at the finish area. A medical professional will be present for emergencies. Awards will be given in various categories and official timing will be available after the event.
