Chewacla Cha Cha
Chewacla Cha Cha is a trail running event on September 13, 2026 at Chewacla State Park in Auburn, AL. It is organized by the Southern Singletrack Trail Series and benefits Valley Rescue Mission. The event is part of the Southern Singletrack race series and takes place on wooded singletrack trails with gentle elevation changes.
The course details:
- 5K : one scenic loop of wooded singletrack
- 10K : two loops of the same course
Runners start in staggered waves to manage field size. Awards are given to overall male and female winners in each distance. There is one on-course aid station and one finish-line station offering water, CeraSport, and individually wrapped snacks such as pretzels, chips, fruit chews, and candy. Runners are advised to bring a personal water bottle and be prepared for warm September conditions; organizers may remove runners from the course if they show signs of dehydration or distress.
Registration fees vary by distance and date. A guaranteed race shirt size requires registration by August 30, 2026. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed. A park day use fee of $4.00 per person is payable at the park gate and is not included in registration. Limited race day registration may be available. No late starts are allowed.
