Chewacla Cha Cha Trail Race : event details
The Chewacla Cha Cha is a trail running event held at Chewacla State Park in Auburn, Alabama. The course uses singletrack trails through wooded terrain with gentle elevation changes and consists of one loop per 5K or two loops for the 10K distance. Starts are organized in staggered waves to reduce congestion at the beginning.
Race distances:
- 5K : One scenic loop
- 10K : Two loops
The event benefits Valley Rescue Mission. Registration prices are listed with an early and a late rate: $55 for the 5K and $65 for the 10K initially, increasing to $70 and $80 respectively after August 22, 2026. The guaranteed t-shirt size cutoff is August 31, 2026. Each registered runner receives a race shirt and a finisher award. Transfers, refunds, and deferments are not allowed.
Aid support includes one on-course aid station and one finish-line station offering water, CeraSport, and individually wrapped snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring a personal water bottle. An additional park day use fee of $4.00 per person applies at the gate. The organizer reserves the right to remove runners showing signs of dehydration or distress.
