Event Overview
The Chester County 5k Winter Series is a seasonal running competition held at Downingtown West High School in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The series consists of five separate race dates spanning from December 2025 through March 2026. The course is designed for speed, utilizing the grounds of the Downingtown West and Middle School campuses.
Race Options
The series provides several distance options across the different dates:
- 5k
- 10k
- Kids 400m Dash
The 5k distance is available at every event in the series. The fourth race date includes both a 5k and a 10k option. Children can also participate in a dedicated 400m Dash.
Logistics and Timing
All events utilize MyLaps bibtag timing with disposable chips to provide quick and accurate results. Participants can pick up their bibs or complete race day registration in the gym lobby of Downingtown West High School starting one hour before the race. The event organizers provide live results via Chester County Racing Services.
Awards
The series features a unique age-grading award system. This method allows all participants to be evaluated on a level playing field regardless of their age or gender. Awards are presented to the top 10 age-graded finishers. Participants who complete at least three races in the series are eligible for series-specific awards, including honors for the top-performing male and female runners.
