Cheshire Triathlon
The Cheshire Triathlon takes place in Nantwich, Cheshire on Sunday 9th May 2027, using Barony Park and Nantwich Leisure Centre. The swim is held in an outdoor heated brine pool described as the only remaining heated inland brine pool in the UK. The event uses split transitions at Nantwich Leisure Centre and Barony Park.
Course format includes a one-lap cycle through the South Cheshire countryside and a lapped grass run around Barony Park. The bike course is undulated and the run course is flat and off road. Electronic chip timing is used and all finishers receive an official medal. Competitors must wear a cycle helmet for the bike section and are required to count their own swim lengths and bike and run laps.
Support facilities at the event include hot and cold food, refreshments, toilets and a children's play area. The event offers individual and team relay options with relay teams of two or three people passing the electronic chip between members. A charity CRUK Wave is available with the same shorter distances and a donation of £10 from each CRUK Wave entry to Cancer Research UK.
Distances available include:
- Sprint: 500 m swim, 21 km cycle, 5 km run
- Super Sprint and Fun: 200 m swim, 21 km cycle, 2.5 km run
- Sprint Relay and CRUK Wave mirrors above distances
