Ion Bank Cheshire Road Races
The Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K takes place on April 11, 2027 and is limited to 2,000 participants. The event raises funds for charities including Abilities Without Boundaries, Best Buddies CT, and the Cheshire Lions Club. In the event's history, more than $1,000,000 has been given to these charities and other causes.
The event includes a Healthy Living Festival where companies and local businesses exhibit products and services related to health and active living.
Race options include:
- Half marathon: course through Cheshire and Hamden; includes stretches along the Farmington Canal Trail.
- 5K: route through Cheshire neighborhoods with few turns and a flat route.
- Kids Fun Run: 1/4 mile for ages 6 and under, 1/2 mile for ages 7-12.
Medals are awarded to half marathon finishers. Organizers note that the half marathon course contains steep and windy sections, and wheelchairs are not allowed on that course to ensure participant safety.
