Ion Bank Cheshire Road Races
The Ion Bank Cheshire Road Races take place in Cheshire, Connecticut, with the primary venue located at Cheshire High School. The event features several running distances to accommodate different participants:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Kids 1/2 Mile Run (Ages 7 and older)
- Kids 1/4 Mile Run (Ages 6 and younger)
The Half Marathon is a flat and fast course that travels through the towns of Cheshire and Hamden. A significant portion of this route follows the historic Farmington Canal Trail. All participants who finish the half marathon receive a commemorative medal.
The 5K route is also designed to be flat with few turns. This course leads runners through residential neighborhoods in Cheshire. For the younger participants, the Kids Fun Runs are held safely on the track at Cheshire High School.
Participants receive technical shirts as part of the event. The race day atmosphere includes live music and a selection of food and drinks provided after the competition. Registration for these races typically opens several months in advance, with specific fees assigned to each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
