Event
The Cheshire Cross Country Championships take place on 3 January 2026 at Kelsall Equestrian Centre, Middlewich Road, CW6 0SR, United Kingdom. The event is organised by Cheshire AA and is the county annual cross country championships.
Races and distances
- Race 1 - Under 11 M & F: 1500 m (1 extra small lap)
- Race 2 - Under 13 M & F: 3100 m (1 medium lap)
- Race 3 - Under 15 M & F: 3600 m (1 large lap)
- Race 4 - Under 17 M & F: 5900 m (1 small + 1 large lap)
- Race 5 - Under 20 + Senior + Vet F: 7200 m (2 large laps)
- Race 6 - Under 20 + Senior + Vet M: 9500 m (3 large laps)
Eligibility, entries and rules
Eligibility requires being born within the 1974 Cheshire county boundaries (including Halton and Warrington) or resident in Cheshire for at least nine months before the event, and not having competed in another county championship since 1 October 2025. Age definitions use either age on race day or age on 31 August 2025 as specified for categories. All athletes except the Under 11 race must have an up-to-date England Athletics registration. All competitors must be club members and run for their first-claim club. Club vests must be worn. Headphones are prohibited, including bone-conducting types.
Entries are online only. Entry fees are £9.00 for seniors/veterans and £6.00 for U11-U20 (plus booking fee). Entries close 28 December 2025; no late or on-the-day entries are permitted. Numbers are collected on the day. Clubs are asked to provide two helpers for event duties.
Awards and teams
Individual awards are given to the first three in each non-veteran age group. Veteran awards are given to winners in defined age bands for men and women. Team awards are given to the first three teams in each non-veteran age group and to the first overall veteran teams, with specific scoring counts for each race.
