Cheryl's Run for Aplastic Anemia
The 10th annual Cheryl's Run takes place at Laurier Park in Edmonton, offering both an in-person event and a virtual participation window. All funds raised during the event are directed to the Awasisak Indigenous Health Program at the Stollery Children's Hospital. The event emphasizes community support and life-saving contributions, including partnerships with Canadian Blood Services.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 10 km run.
- 5 km run or walk.
- 2 km kids run.
On-site participants have access to various amenities, including lunch provided by a food truck, refreshments at the finish line, and professional physiotherapy massages. Registered children receive passes to a local playground. Registration is open for individuals and teams, with a virtual option available for those unable to attend in person. For virtual participants living outside the province, event kits are delivered via mail.
Race packages can be collected the day before the event at a local running store or at the park on the morning of the run. The event includes fundraising incentives, with prizes awarded to top contributors. Activities and entertainment are organized within the park throughout the duration of the event to support the participating families and runners.
