Cherry Picker's Trot and Pit Spit
The Cherry Picker's Trot and Pit Spit is an annual event held on the third Thursday in July in Colbert, Washington. The event centers around the cherry season in the Green Bluff area and features a variety of activities for participants and spectators.
The main running event is a 4-mile (6.4K) race. The course takes participants through orchard country on paved roads. This distance is open to both runners and walkers. Participants using strollers or those planning to walk are asked to position themselves at the back of the starting group. For insurance liability reasons, dogs are not permitted on the course.
In addition to the main race, the event includes several alternative activities:
- 6.4K (4 Mile) run on paved orchard roads.
- Tot Trot for children ages 5 and under.
- Cherry Pit Spit contest.
The Tot Trot is a free activity organized by age categories. The Cherry Pit Spit is a competitive contest open for one hour before the main race begins; registration for this contest is free. Food is available on-site provided by the local Fire Station and the Harvest House. Registration for the main race and bib pickup for pre-registered participants take place at the venue.
