Cheltenham Tri in the Park Junior and Adult Triathlon

The Cheltenham Tri in the Park is an off-road super-sprint triathlon held within Pittville Park. The event features an indoor pool swim at the local leisure centre, followed by cycling and running segments on park grounds. The competition is structured to accommodate both youth and adult participants with specific categories based on age as of December 31, 2026.

Participants must hold a valid British Triathlon Race Pass or a Home Nation membership to compete. All finishers receive a medal and a goody bag, with trophies awarded to winners in various age categories. On-site facilities include car parking, changing rooms, lockers, showers, and refreshments.

The available distances include:

  • Adult and Youth (15+ years): 400m swim, 10km off-road cycle (5 laps), and 2.5km run.
  • Tristar 3 (13-14 years): 300m swim, 6km cycle, and 2000m run.
  • Tristar 2 (11-12 years): 200m swim, 4km cycle, and 1500m run.
  • Tristar 1 (9-10 years): 132m swim, 2km cycle, and 1000m run.
  • Tristar Start (8 years): 33m swim, 800m cycle, and 500m run.

The cycle and run courses are entirely off-road. The adult bike leg circumnavigates the perimeter of the park and the pitch and putt golf course, while the junior course follows a separate flat, lapped route. A mountain or hybrid bike is recommended for the off-road terrain. All swim portions take place in a 33m heated pool using a snake swim system.
