Event Overview
Cheltenham Tri in the Park Junior & Adult Triathlon takes place on 11 July 2026 in Pittville Park, Cheltenham. It is organised by Cheltenham Triathlon Club and uses an indoor pool and off-road routes within the park.
The event includes separate junior and adult triathlons. Youth competitors aged 15–16 race on the adult course. The minimum age for junior entrants is 8 years on 31 December 2026. Distances and age groups follow British Triathlon rules.
All finishers receive a medal, and there are age group trophies for adult and youth winners. Junior competitors receive certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, plus trophies for Tristar age group winners. At least £2 from each entry is donated to a charitable organisation.
Chip timing is provided, and all finishers receive a small goody bag. Facilities on site include car parking, changing rooms, lockers, showers, and hot and cold refreshments. Soft tissue therapy is available after the race.
A valid British Triathlon Race Pass or Home Nation membership is required for all participants.
Course and Distances
The triathlon uses an indoor pool swim, followed by an off-road bike and off-road run around Pittville Park.
Adult & Youth course:
- Swim: 400 m in a 33 m heated pool (12 lengths, snake swim)
- Bike: 10 km off-road, 5 laps around the park and golf course
- Run: approx. 2.5 km off-road, mainly grass, single lap
Junior age group distances:
- Tristar Start (8 yrs): 33 m swim, 800 m bike, 500 m run
- Tristar 1 (9–10 yrs): 132 m swim, 2 km bike, 1000 m run
- Tristar 2 (11–12 yrs): 200 m swim, 4 km bike, 1500 m run
- Tristar 3 (13–14 yrs): 300 m swim, 6 km bike, 2000 m run
Junior races follow a separate, flat, lapped, completely off-road course with a dedicated transition area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
