Chatham Sweetcorn Shuck n' Run 5K
The Chatham Sweetcorn Shuck n' Run 5K is a community road race held as part of the Sweetcorn Festival at Chatham Community Park, 700 S. Main Street, Chatham, Illinois. The event is organized by the Chatham Jaycees and features a 3.1 mile course.
Proceeds support Chatham Jaycees projects in the community. A fixed donation is made from each entry and is split between two local beneficiaries: the Chatham Chargers Special Olympics team and the Chatham Library. In the previous year the event raised $6,000 for the Backyard at the Library.
Packet pickup is available during the festival the day before the race and there is limited packet pickup on race morning at the park. Participant items include shirts while supplies last and finisher medals for all participants. Awards are presented for the top male and top female finishers in the following age divisions: 11 and under, 12 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, and 65 and up.
