Chatham Sweetcorn Shuck n' Run 5K
The Chatham Jaycees Sweetcorn Shuck n' Run 5K is scheduled for July 18, 2026 at Chatham Community Park, 700 S. Main Street, Chatham, IL 62629. The event is a 3.1 mile running race with a registration fee of $35. Registration opens April 2, 2026 at 10:00 and closes July 14, 2026 at 08:50.
Packet pickup is available Friday, July 17 in the evening during the Sweetcorn Festival at Chatham Community Park, with limited packet pickup the morning of the race at the park from 7:00 to 7:45.
For every runner, ten dollars will be donated and split between the Chatham Chargers Special Olympics team and the Chatham Library. Proceeds also support Chatham Jaycees community projects. In the previous year the event helped raise $6,000 for the Backyard at the Library. Past community support from the organizing group has included Clothes for Kids and school related assistance.
Event swag includes t-shirts while supplies last; the deadline to guarantee shirts and medals has passed but extra shirts have been ordered for race weekend. All participants receive finisher medals. Awards are presented after the race for top male and female finishers in each age division: 11 and under, 12 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, and 65 and up.
