Chase the Pace
Chase the Pace is a track event produced through a collaboration between Mile2Marathon and Run Ottawa. Held at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility, the meet emphasizes inclusivity and provides runners with a supportive environment featuring professional timing and trackside support.
The event features a variety of distances:
- 5000m
- The Mile
- 800m (children only)
- 400m (children only)
- 400 x 1 Relay
The 5000m race consists of 12.5 laps of the track and is open to adults, youth, and children. Participants are placed into heats with others of similar speeds based on the pace information provided during registration. Expert pacers from Mile2Marathon are available for the 5000m and The Mile to help runners maintain their target speed.
The event partners with Camp Quality, a charity supporting children with cancer and blood disorders. Participants have the choice of a "Green Bib" option, which directs a portion of the registration fee to the charity instead of providing a finisher medal. Onsite facilities include free parking, with additional paid parking located at Mooney's Bay Park. Registration is conducted exclusively online prior to the event deadline, as there is no onsite registration available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
