Charlton Heritage 5K

The Charlton Heritage 5K is an annual run and walk held during Founders weekend in Charlton, New York, to mark the founding of the town. The event raises funds for the Charlton Historical Society to support preservation of historical buildings and artifacts and to provide local history education.

The main course is a 5-kilometre out-and-back route over rural back roads. The course includes a mix of rolling hills and flat sections and passes local landmarks. The start area is at the Old Red School House, associated with the Charlton Historical Society, and the route finishes at St. Paul’s Church, built in 1804.

Entry fees for 2026 are listed as follows: $30 if postmarked on or before May 26, 2026; $35 after May 26, 2026. A separate kids fun run has an entry fee of $15. Race day and mail-in payments accept cash or check only; credit cards are not accepted.

Additional event details note awards organized by five-year age groups, a course map and posted race results, a severe weather protocol, and opportunities for spring small-group training runs offered by a local physical therapy provider.
