Novant Health Charlotte Marathon
The Novant Health Charlotte Marathon is a multi-distance running event held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Formerly known as the Thunder Road Marathon, the event takes place annually in November. The races are organized by RunCharlotte and serve as a central gathering for the local running community.
The event consists of several distinct race distances to accommodate different participants:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- Chick-fil-A 5K
In addition to the standard running events, the half marathon includes a rucking category. There is also an event expo held during the race weekend where participants can access runner information and services.
The Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital is the official beneficiary of the event. Since 2014, the partnership has raised over $600,000 to support pediatric care in the Carolinas. Participants have the option to join Team Hemby or create charity teams to support the hospital's mission.
