Charleston Distance Run
The Charleston Distance Run is scheduled for September 5, 2026 in Charleston, West Virginia. The event offers three race options spanning different distances and formats, and follows a course that travels through downtown areas, hillside neighborhoods, and the riverfront.
The main event is a 15 mile race that follows a point-to-point route. The course includes climbs and rolling sections and begins at the West Virginia State Capitol. The finish is at the University of Charleston Stadium at Laidley Field. The 15 mile event is open to participants aged 12 and older.
A 3-person 15 mile relay divides the distance into three segments. Relay legs are arranged as 3 mile, 5 mile, and 7 mile segments to cover the full route in team format.
A separate 5K Run/Walk uses a flat, fast 5 kilometer course mapped through Charleston streets. Timing and results are available for the events and there is information on prizes and participant guidance on the event pages.
