Cerebral Palsy Awareness 5K
The Cerebral Palsy Awareness 5K is scheduled for October 11, 2026 at Veteran's Park, 2206 Kuser Rd, Hamilton Township, NJ 08690. The event includes an in-person 5K run walk at the park and a separate virtual 5K option.
The event is organized by the nonprofit Strides 4 Gianluca. Proceeds benefit Strides 4 Gianluca and the Strides 4 Gianluca Scholarship Fund, which supports students with disabilities and supports awareness, research organizations, families affected by cerebral palsy, and related projects. The race is held in honor of World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day on October 6.
This USATF sanctioned event is part of the 2026 Grand Prix Race Series. Medals are awarded to the overall top female and male finishers and to first through third place female and male finishers in each age group. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine, with cancellation only in the case of emergency weather. Strollers are allowed but must line up at the back of the start. Packet pickup takes place at the 5K location on race day and t shirts will not be mailed; the cutoff date to receive a race shirt is September 26, 2026.
Registration details from the organizer: the in-person 5K registration opens January 20, 2026 and closes May 25, 2026 with a fee of $35. The virtual 5K registration opens January 20, 2026 and closes October 10, 2026 with a fee of $10. Virtual times do not count toward the official in-person 5K and the virtual option does not include the in-person race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
