Cerebral Palsy Awareness 5K
This event is presented by Strides 4 Gianluca, an official 501c3 nonprofit. It is a USATF sanctioned event and part of the 2026 Grand Prix Race Series. The in-person event takes place on October 11, 2026, at Veteran's Park, 2206 Kuser Rd, Hamilton Township, NJ 08690.
The event offers two participation options: an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a Virtual 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds benefit Strides 4 Gianluca and the Strides 4 Gianluca Scholarship Fund, which supports students with disabilities. The race is held in honor of World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day on October 6.
Awards include medals for the Overall Top Female and Male finishers and first, second, and third female and male finishers in each age group. Participant t-shirts are distributed at the 5K location on race day only and cannot be guaranteed for registrations after September 26, 2026. Registration opens January 20, 2026. Published registration prices note an early rate of $35 through May 26, then tiered increases later in the season; a virtual registration option is offered at a lower fee and does not include the in-person shirt. The run is planned to proceed rain or shine and will be canceled only in the event of emergency weather. Strollers are allowed and must line up at the back of the start area.
