Cerebral Palsy Awareness 5K
The Cerebral Palsy Awareness 5K is a USATF sanctioned event held at Veteran's Park in Hamilton, New Jersey. This inaugural race is part of the 2026 Grand Prix Race Series and takes place in honor of World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. The event serves as a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization Strides 4 Gianluca, which supports cerebral palsy research, affected families, and various awareness projects.
Participants have the choice between two formats:
- 5K Run/Walk (In-person)
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The in-person course winds through Veteran's Park. Medals are provided to the overall top female and male finishers, as well as the first, second, and third place finishers in each male and female age group. Strollers are permitted on the course, provided they start at the back of the field.
Registered participants receive t-shirts if they sign up by September 26, 2026. These shirts are distributed on-site on the day of the event and are not available for mailing. The virtual option allows participants to record their activity independently during the month of October, though virtual results do not count toward official race standings and do not include the physical race shirt. The event takes place rain or shine, except in the case of emergency weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
