The event takes place entirely within Wendover Woods, South-East England, with registration, start and finish at Trig Point Field, Aston Hill, Halton (HP22 5NQ). The route is five repeated 10 mile loops on forest trails and tracks. Total ascent and total descent are each listed as 10,000 ft. The overall time limit for the course is 15 hours. The event is run under a UK Athletics permit and is the fourth event in the 50 Mile Grand Slam.

Course, support and requirements

The course is primarily trail running - listed as 99% trail and 1% road - with a mixture of wide, soft trails, runnable climbs and a number of much steeper ascents and descents. The field is marked with pink Tyvek ribbons and Centurion arrows; there are some road crossings that will not all be marshalled. Nine stocked aid stations are provided, including the start/finish aid station and the Hale Lane aid station (which falls at about mile 5.5 of each lap). Medical cover includes a static team at the start/finish and a roving team. Pacers and crew are not permitted; supporters are allowed on course except at Hale Lane. Mandatory equipment requirements include a charged mobile phone, survival blanket, whistle, waterproof jacket with sealed seams, warm hat, gloves, a dry long sleeve layer, and a personal cup. Awards include a finisher medal and podium and veteran-category prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
