Event Overview
The Wendover Woods 50 is a 50 mile foot race taking place entirely within the boundaries of Wendover Woods. The event is held under full UK Athletics regulations with a permit granted through the TRA. This race serves as the fourth and final event in the 50 Mile Grand Slam. Participants must be 20 years of age or older on the day of the event.
Course Details
The race follows a multi-lap format consisting of five loops, each measuring 10 miles. The course is set on forest trails and includes a variety of terrain types. Runners will encounter a mix of wide, soft trails with smooth descents and runnable climbs, interspersed with steeper ascents and descents throughout each loop. The total elevation gain for the event is approximately 5600 feet of climb.
Logistics and Support
The event is held at Trig Point Field, located at Aston Hill in Halton, near Aylesbury. Support provided during the race includes:
- 50 miles total distance via 10 mile loops
- 9 well-stocked aid stations
- Full medical support
- A marked course for navigation
