Wendover Woods 50 takes place on 14 November 2026 at Trig Point Field, Aston Hill, Halton, Aylesbury, HP22 5NQ. The race distance is 50 mi (81 km) run as five 10-mile loops entirely within Wendover Woods. The course has about 10,000 ft (3050 m) of ascent and descent and is listed as 99% trail, 1% road. The race is held under a UK Athletics permit through the TRA.
Course, support and rules
The marked course uses forest trails and tracks. There are 9 well stocked aid stations offering drinks, gels, bars, fruit, sandwiches and savoury snacks including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Medical cover is provided with a static team at the start/finish and roving medics in the woods. The overall cut-off for the race is 15 hours.
Pacers and crew are not permitted on the route. Supporters may be on course except at the Hale Lane aid station; handing items to runners on course is not allowed if it would count as crewing. Drop/finish bags are stored at registration and are available at the end of each loop; bags must be labelled and must not exceed 50 litres.
Runners must meet a qualification standard: completion of at least a marathon within that event’s cut off between 1 January 2021 and race day. Mandatory kit includes a charged mobile phone, survival blanket, whistle, waterproof jacket, warm hat, gloves, a dry long-sleeved layer, a personal cup and, after certain start times, a primary and backup light source. Awards include a finisher medal and prizes for top finishers in male, female and veteran categories. Entry details and fees are published by the organiser.
