Centurion Track 100
The Centurion Track 100 is an elite, record-focused 100 mile track race held at Bedford International Athletics Stadium. The event centres on the 100 mile distance while taking officially ratified split times at shorter marks for record purposes.
The race uses a 400 metre all-weather track. Runners occupy lanes 1, 2 and 3 and change direction every four hours with the final change occurring after 12 hours elapsed. A designated infield crew area is provided for each runner; crews must remain stationary when handing items or communicating in line with IAU rules. A full aid station will operate throughout the event and medical support is provided.
Six split distances are eligible for ratified records and hold IAU Gold Label status:
- 50 km
- 50 mile
- 100 km
- 100 mile
- 6 hour
- 12 hour
The event holds UKA permit status, will be officially measured and certified under UKA standards, and is overseen by UKA officials and timing personnel. Electronic timing, a second backup timing system and live video are used. Anti doping procedures apply for any World or Continental Open Records. The official final cut off for the 100 mile distance is 17 hours.
Entry is by invitation or qualification only and is limited to 25 entrants with an anticipated 15 to 20 starters. Qualifying standards are published separately for men and women and include specified performances across 24 hour, 100 mile, 12 hour, 100 km, 6 hour, 50 mile, 50 km and marathon distances.
