Course and Setting

The Centurion South Downs Way 50km is a non-stop foot race that takes place within the South Downs National Park. The majority of the course follows the South Downs Way National Trail. It starts at Matterley Bowl, a natural amphitheater near Winchester. The finish is in the Event Field at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, following a descent from Butser Hill. The route offers expansive views across the Weald and towards the coast.

Event Details

The race is 50 km in distance. It is the second annual edition and is part of the World Trail Majors - Short Series. The course is fully marked. Organizers provide four aid stations and full medical support during the event. There is a 9-hour time limit to complete the course. Participants must be 20 years or older on the event date.

Entry is managed via an online system. The standard entry fee is £82, with a discounted fee of £80 for UKA members. Entries open on 12th July 2025 and close on 5th June 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
