Event Information

The Centennial Route 66 5K is a running event taking place on June 6, 2026. It is held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois, starting at the Gate 2 Route 66 Experience exhibit. The event commemorates the 100th anniversary of Historic Route 66.

Race Details

The course is a 5K distance. The route starts and finishes at the Gate 2 Route 66 Experience. After about the 1K point, runners enter the Illinois State Fair Grandstand Track and complete one full one-mile loop on the oval before exiting and finishing the rest of the 5K on a scenic loop through the fairgrounds. An official one-mile split time is captured during the track segment.

Participant Details
