Run and Celebration in Downtown Westminster
The Celtic Run Fest is a multi-distance running event held in Downtown Westminster, Maryland, coinciding with an Irish Festival. The festival atmosphere features live music, a beer garden, various vendors, and a dedicated Kids' Kingdom with Irish games and entertainment. A complimentary trolley service operates in the afternoon to transport attendees to a local pub crawl.
Participants can choose from several distinct events:
- Celtic Canter 5K - A 3.1-mile course starting and finishing on Main Street.
- Leprechaun Chase 1-mile - A fun run held following the 5K event.
- 0.5K (Don't miss the point!) - A short distance event focused on participation.
- VIP! 0.5K - A 0.5K entry including access to a firepit lounge.
The Celtic Canter 5K registration includes a long-sleeve t-shirt, post-race refreshments, and a beverage (choice of beer for those 21 and over or bottled water). Awards are presented to the top two male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over. Competitive team awards are also available for the fastest, best dressed, oldest, and youngest teams with a minimum of four members.
The 1-mile Leprechaun Chase participants receive a t-shirt, access to an all-you-can-eat s'more bar, and post-race refreshments. Children 10 and under receive participation medals. The 0.5K events benefit Crossroads Missions and include a magnet, medal, and a coffee and donut station at the halfway point. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
