Celtic Run Fest
The Celtic Run Fest takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The event is part of an Irish Celebration in Downtown Westminster, Maryland. The celebration runs from 8 a.m. to noon and includes live music, a beer garden, vendors, and activities for children. A free trolley runs from noon to 5 p.m., with a pub crawl from noon to 4 p.m.
Several running events are part of the festival:
- Celtic Canter 5K – The 15th edition of this event.
- Leprechaun Chase 1-mile – A fun run.
- 0.5K (Don't miss the point!) – A short, humorous event to benefit Crossroads Missions.
- VIP! 0.5K – A variant of the 0.5K with additional perks.
Registration Information The registration fees are as follows:
- Celtic Canter 5K: $35 online. Price increases on March 1.
- Leprechaun Chase 1-mile: $15 prior to March 1.
- 0.5K: $20 basic. Price increases after the first 15 registrants and again on February 28.
- VIP 0.5K: $25. Price increases after the first 15 registrants and again on February 28.
Standard registration for the 5K includes a long-sleeve t-shirt (with an upgrade option for a hooded sweatshirt), a post-race beverage (beer for those 21+ or bottled water), refreshments, and access to an awards ceremony. The 0.5K includes a long-sleeved t-shirt, a participation medal, and a coffee and donut station. The VIP 0.5K adds access to a VIP Firepit Lounge with an all-you-can-eat s'mores bar.
Awards and Details Age group and overall awards are presented for the 5K and 1-mile events. Team awards are available for the 5K in categories like fastest, best dressed, oldest, and youngest. All children 10 and under in the 1-mile receive a participation medal and a free kid's meal coupon. Packet pick-up for the 5K is available at the Recreation and Parks Department on Longwell Avenue on March 12 and 13. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
