Celebrate West Hartford FUNd Runs
Celebrate! West Hartford FUNd Runs take place with the town's outdoor festival and offer a timed 5K road race and a non timed Kids' K. A portion of race proceeds is donated to the Leisure Services Scholarship Fund to help children from low income families attend swimming lessons, vacation camps and other programs.
Course details for the 5K: the race starts in the center of West Hartford on South Main Street near the Noah Webster statue, proceeds north past local landmarks, turns onto Craigmoor Road, continues onto the Trout Brook Trail, departs at Memorial Road, passes the Delamar Hotel and finishes between Raymond and Isham Roads. The 5K course is USATF certified #CT24001JHP.
The Kids' K is a 1K (0.62 mile) non timed dash consisting of 1 3/4 loops around Blue Back Square. Registered participants age 10 and under receive a medal.
Practical information published by the organizer includes:
- Packet pickup at Fleet Feet, 1003 Farmington Ave, West Hartford; in store race registration is available.
- Race day parking options include Isham Garage at 17 Isham Road and Town Center Garage at 29 South Main Street.
- Fees are listed as $30 for the 5K through May 31 and $35 thereafter, and $5 for the Kids' K for children 10 and under.
- 5K runners who register by May 22 are guaranteed a free event shirt.
