Celebrate! West Hartford FUNd RUNS
The Celebrate! West Hartford FUNd RUNS are a set of community running events held in West Hartford, Connecticut, with activities centered at Town Hall and Blue Back Square. The runs take place alongside the town's two-day outdoor festival and direct a portion of proceeds to The Town That Cares and the Leisure Services Scholarship Fund to help children from low-income families attend lessons, camps, and other programs.
Distances offered
- 1K non-timed Kids' K dash, medals for registered runners age 10 and under.
- 5K USATF certified course that includes West Hartford Center and the Trout Brook Trail.
The 5K begins in the center of West Hartford on South Main Street near the Noah Webster statue, proceeds north past historic landmarks, turns onto Craigmoor Road and the paved Trout Brook Trail, departs at Memorial Road, passes the Delamar Hotel, and finishes between Raymond and Isham Roads. The course is USATF certified (CT24001JHP).
Registration and bib numbers are not transferable. Runners registered by May 22 for the 5K are guaranteed a race shirt. Race-day registration and packet pick-up occur in the Town Hall parking lot.
Prizes are awarded to first, second, and third place 5K finishers in male and female divisions across ten age categories: 10 and under; 11-14; 15-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 and over. Overall first place male and female and the first place male and female from West Hartford receive prizes valued at least $100. First place male, female, and over 65 finishers also receive trophies. 5K participants may enter a raffle for additional prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
