Cedar Bend Endurance Run : 4 and 8 hour trail races
The event is a timed endurance run held at Cedar Bend Park north of Waverly, Iowa on September 5, 2026. Runners complete repeated laps of a roughly 3.15 mile loop that follows the park perimeter. Each loop contains about 200 feet of elevation. The course is mostly trail with roughly one fifth of the loop on gravel and some technical sections; trails are maintained.
There are two time-based distances:
- 4 hour endurance run on the 3.15 mile loop
- 8 hour endurance run on the 3.15 mile loop
Only laps finished within the allotted 4 or 8 hours are officially recognized. Participants may switch from the 8 hour to the 4 hour event during registration without a refund of the difference. Participants registered for the 4 hour event may not move up to the 8 hour event.
A fully stocked aid station will be located at the start and finish area. No aid may be given to a runner outside of the main start/finish aid station; doing so will result in disqualification. There is space for crews on site; tents should not exceed 10x10 feet and parking is limited, so crews are asked to minimize vehicles. The trail is open to non race traffic.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers in each event. In case of a tie, the competitor who completed the distance first is ranked higher.
