Event overview
The Cedar Bend Endurance Event is a time-boxed trail running event held on September 5, 2026, at Cedar Bend Park north of Waverly, Iowa (1267 205th St, Waverly, IA 50677). Two options are offered:
- 4-hour endurance event
- 8-hour endurance event
Only laps completed within the chosen time limit are officially recognized. Entrants who switch from the 8-hour to the 4-hour option during registration will not receive a refund; entrants who register for the 4-hour option may not move up to the 8-hour option. Awards are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers for each event; ties are broken by who completed the distance first.
Course and logistics
The course is a loop of about 3.15 miles (listed as 5k+ / about 3.2 miles) that runs around the park perimeter and includes roughly 200 ft of elevation per loop. Surfaces mix singletrack, double-wide trail and gravel; about one-fifth of each loop is on gravel and the remainder is trail. The trail has maintained sections and some technical aspects.
A fully stocked aid station will be located at the start/finish area; no aid may be provided to runners outside that main aid station and doing so can lead to disqualification. There is space for crews; organizers request no structures larger than a 10x10 tent and that teams limit vehicles because parking is limited. The trail remains open to non-race traffic. Camping and campground facility information is available for Cedar Bend Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
