Event details
The Cedar Bend Endurance Run takes place at Cedar Bend Park north of Waverly, Iowa, on September 5, 2026. The park address is 1267 205th St, Waverly, IA 50677. The event is offered in two time-boxed formats:
- 4-hour endurance run
- 8-hour endurance run
Only laps completed within each event's allotted time are officially recognized; laps finished after the cutoff are not counted.
Course, aid and logistics
The course is an approximately 3.2 mile loop around the park perimeter. The surface mixes singletrack, wider trail and gravel, with about one-fifth of each loop on gravel. Each loop contains roughly 200 ft of elevation and includes some technical trail sections. There is a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish; no aid may be given to runners outside this main aid station and doing so will result in disqualification. Crews are permitted but space is limited; tents should not exceed 10x10 and participants are asked to limit vehicles. The trail remains open to non-race traffic. Awards are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers in each event; ties are broken by who completed the distance first. Registration allows switching from the 8-hour to the 4-hour option without refund; 4-hour entrants may not move up to 8 hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
