Cedar Bend Endurance Run
The Cedar Bend Endurance Run is a timed trail event held at Cedar Bend Park, located just north of Waverly, Iowa. Participants choose between a 4 hour or an 8 hour endurance race that is scored by completed laps within the allotted time.
The course is a roughly 3.15 mile loop that goes around the park perimeter. Each loop contains about 200 feet of elevation. The surface mixes single track, double wide track and gravel, with roughly one fifth of each loop on gravel and the remainder on trail. The trails are maintained but include some technical sections.
One fully stocked aid station is located at the start/finish area. No aid may be provided to runners outside that main aid station; doing so will result in disqualification. Crews are allowed and there is space for them, but large equipment is discouraged. Event guidance requests that crews bring only one vehicle when possible and avoid tents larger than 10x10 because parking is limited. The trail remains open to non race traffic and there are multiple places for spectators to watch.
Official results recognize only laps completed within the chosen time limit. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each timed event, with ties broken by earlier completion time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
