Event overview
The Cedar 5K & 1 Mile takes place on April 18, 2026, in Birmingham, AL, with the race site at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, 836 8th St. South, Birmingham 35205. The event includes the following entries:
- 5K - chip timed
- 1 Mile Fun Run - run or walk
- SleepIn - T-shirt only entry
Published entry fees are $25 for the 5K ($20 for ages 0-21), $18 for the 1 Mile Fun Run, and $25 for the SleepIn option. Cotton short-sleeve T-shirts and goodie bags are provided to the first 200 registrants in youth and adult sizes.
Logistics, awards and rules
Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church. Team registration closes on April 15, 2026. Fundraisers who raise $250 are eligible to receive their entry fee back if they register and sign up as individual fundraisers.
All net proceeds benefit Food for Our Journey. Raffle eligibility requires registration by April 17. The 5K has overall and 10-year age-group awards for males and females; Fun Run participants receive a finisher's award. Team awards include Largest Team, Fastest Team, and Team Spirit. Participants must wear their bib number on the front of their shirt to have a recorded 5K time. Unregistered participants are not allowed on the course. Pets are not allowed on the course and must be leashed off-course; strollers should start from the back of the field. Cancellation policy states entry fees are non-refundable.
