St. Elias Cedar Run 5K and 1 Mile Cedar Shake
The St. Elias Cedar Run takes place in Birmingham, Alabama, with activities centered at the St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church. The event supports Food for Our Journey through participant registration fees and fundraising efforts. Participants can choose between two primary distances or a virtual participation option.
The available distances include:

- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 5K course is a timed event where runners must wear their bib number on the front of their shirt to receive a recorded time. A USATF certification for this course is pending. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is open to both runners and walkers. Every participant in this category receives a finisher's award. For those unable to attend in person, a "SleepIn" registration option is available, which includes a event t-shirt.
Team participation is encouraged, with groups of five or more eligible for specific recognition. Team awards are given for the largest team, the fastest team based on the times of the first five members, and a team spirit award. Participants using strollers are permitted but are asked to start at the back of the line for safety. While leashed pets are allowed at the venue, they are restricted from entering the racecourse or the designated start area.
The first 200 registered participants receive a cotton short-sleeve t-shirt and a goodie bag. Packet pickup is scheduled on the day before the event at the church. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
