Cedar 5K & 1 Mile - St. Elias Cedar Shake Fun Run/Walk
The event takes place on April 18, 2026, at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama. It features road race options and an alternative participation choice.

Registration details vary by entry type. Race registration opens November 10, 2025; 5K and 1 Mile race entries close February 21, 2026. Team registration and team discounts end April 15, 2026. A SleepIn option remains available through the event with a shirt included. Entry fees are listed per event and fundraising participants who raise $250 may receive their entry fee back when registered and signed up as individual fundraisers.
The 5K course is USATF certified (AL26016JE). The first 200 registrants receive cotton short-sleeve T-shirts and a goodie bag; youth and adult sizes are provided. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at St. Elias.
Awards include overall and 10-year age-group prizes for the 5K, finisher medals for the 5K, and finisher awards for the Fun Run. Team awards recognize largest team, fastest team based on the first five registered finishers, and team spirit. Participants must wear their bib number on the front; unregistered participants are not permitted on the course. Pets are not allowed on the racecourse or start area and must be leashed elsewhere. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable; in the event of cancellation, fees will be used as a donation to Food for Our Journey.
