Castle Trails 30km
The Castle Trails 30 km is a point to point trail race launched in 2026 as part of the Three Castles 50 km ultra weekend. The route follows the River Medway from Little Fant Farm in East Farleigh to Tonbridge, passing the stone bridge at East Farleigh, Teston Country Park, Wateringbury and Yalding. Runners reach views of Tonbridge Castle before completing the final 5 km with a lap on an athletics track. The course is described as flat, scenic and runnable, allowing participants to focus on pace or the surroundings.
Entry includes a fully marked 30 km trail route, two fully stocked checkpoints and one water only stop, GPS tracking and live race timing, medical support, bag transfer from start to finish, and a finisher medal for those within the eight hour race cut off. Showers, changing rooms and food and drink are available at the finish. Awards are provided for the first three male and female finishers. An optional shuttle bus from Tonbridge to the start is offered for runners for a fee.
Checkpoints are at 4 km (Barming Bridge), 15 km (Hop Farm) and a water station at 25 km (Racecourse Park, Tonbridge). Runners must be at least 18 years old, display their bib, check in at all checkpoints and follow race rules. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone with the race director number saved and a drinks bottle with at least 500 ml capacity. The event operates a zero tolerance policy on littering and does not allow dogs or pacers on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
