Castle Trails 30km
The Castle Trails 30km is a point-to-point trail race in Kent, launching in 2026 as part of the Three Castles 50km Ultra weekend. Use of the 30 km route provides a shorter alternative to the full ultra distance while following a similar course. The event starts at Little Fant Farm in East Farleigh and concludes at the Tonbridge School Centre.
The course primarily follows the River Medway, utilizing shared towpaths and trails. After departing the farm, runners cross the historic stone bridge at East Farleigh and pass through several locations, including Teston Country Park, Wateringbury, and Yalding. The route is characterized as flat and scenic, featuring riverside paths and locks. As participants enter Tonbridge, they pass Tonbridge Castle before completing the final five kilometers, which includes a finish on an athletics track.
Participants are provided with:
- 30 km marked trail route
- GPS tracking and live timing
- Two stocked checkpoints and one water station
- Bag transfer from start to finish
- Finisher medal for those completing within the eight-hour limit
- Access to showers and changing rooms at the finish
The event requires runners to carry a fully charged mobile phone and a drinks bottle with a 500ml capacity. This is a cupless event, and dogs are not permitted on the course. An optional shuttle bus is available to transport runners from the finish location to the start before the race begins. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
