Castle To Coast Triathlon
Castle to Coast is a point to point triathlon from Dorney Lake near Windsor to Brighton seafront by swim, bike and run. The route includes countryside, rural villages and sections across both the North and South Downs.
The course sequence is:
- 1.2 mile lake swim
- 67 miles cycle through the Surrey Hills
- 14 mile trail run across the South Downs to Brighton seafront
The event is organised as a sportive triathlon, which is non-competitive and not governed by the usual British Triathlon competition rules. This format allows non-standard distances, relaxed starts and fewer equipment restrictions. Event logistics include bag transfers between stops and a delivered finish line meal. The course is fully supported with route signage, mechanics, medical teams and experienced route managers.
A team entry option is available for groups of two or three. In that format the swimmer completes the swim and hands the timing chip to the cyclist in the transition village; the team must transport the runner and other team members between designated points so the run can start. A return transport ticket can be booked to move participants and their kit from Brighton seafront back to Windsor. Entry fees shown range from £270 to £295. Time cutoffs apply: the swim within 1 hr 20 min, the bike within 7.5 hrs and the run within 11.5 hrs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
