Lough Cutra Castle Multisport Event : County Galway
Lough Cutra Castle Multisport Event is a weekend of multisport racing held on the grounds of Lough Cutra Castle in County Galway. The programme includes triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, swim and run events with a range of distances from starter to elite. Open water swims take place in the estate lake, which the organiser describes as a 1,000 acre private lake.
The castle sits within the estate and the event village runs throughout the weekend. The village features live music, shopping, food and drink, children’s entertainment and yoga. Photographers will be positioned around the course, finish area and event village; official digital photos are available for pre order with a 25% discount on 2026 images.
The 2026 event is sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland; competitors in triathlon and multisport races must hold a valid membership licence or purchase a Triathlon Ireland day licence. A Mixed Team Relay takes place on Saturday 23rd of May with a €500 prize for the winning team. The event lists Alzheimer's Research UK as its charity partner and provides routes for fundraising and charity places.
Additional event services include a family campsite for tents and caravans with pitches starting at £30, personalised medals and race inserts, coaching packages through an external provider, event merchandise including a technical t shirt, wetsuit discounts for competitors and travel discounts with ferry partners.
