Lough Cutra Castle Multisport Event, County Galway
Lough Cutra Castle Multisport Event takes place on the castle estate in County Galway. The castle dates from the Gothic revival period and overlooks the estate’s 1,000 acre lake, which is used for the event’s open water swims. The venue includes an event village on the grounds.
The weekend programme offers multiple race formats: triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, open water swim and run events. Races are available for a wide range of ages, with participants invited from age 9 up to age 90, and a selection of distances described as ranging from starter to elite.
The event village runs alongside the races and features live music, shopping, food and drink, children’s entertainment and yoga. A family campsite for tents and caravans operates within the castle grounds with pitches starting at £30.
The event is sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland; competitors in triathlon and multisport races must hold a valid Triathlon Ireland membership licence or purchase a Triathlon Ireland One Day Membership. Official services at the event include wetsuit hire through a partner provider, on-course and finish line photography, event merchandise and coaching options. The event partners with Alzheimer’s Research UK for charity places, fundraising and donations. Ferry discounts are offered for travel to Ireland and race results for 23rd-24th May 2026 are available.
