CASA Superhero 5K - Harrison County
The CASA Superhero 5K in Harrison County is a community-focused running event held in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This event is organized by the Harrison County CASA team to support advocacy and services for children in foster care. It offers two primary participation options:
- CASA Superhero 5K Run/Walk
- Kids' Fun Run
The 5K course features a mix of terrain, including asphalt and gravel. Participants start at the top of White Oaks Boulevard near Steptoe & Johnson. The route proceeds downhill toward Route 131, ventures onto Barnett's Run Road, and passes I-79 Trailer Sales before navigating a gravel climb. After circling a local parking lot, runners rejoin the main road for a steady climb back to the finish line on White Oaks Boulevard. Due to the mixed terrain and gravel sections, certain parts of the course are not suitable for standard strollers.
In addition to the physical races, the event includes a costume contest. Recognition is provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners across several age divisions ranging from 1-14 to 60+. The activities are centered around the White Oaks business district, with support from local community partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
