Columbia Gorge CASA Fall Family Run
The event takes place on October 3 at the Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead in Hood River, set in the Columbia River Gorge. Proceeds support Columbia Gorge CASA’s advocacy for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The event offers a chip timed 5K and a casual 1 mile jog or walk, plus a virtual race shirt option.
Distances and options:
- 5K chip timed run or walk, free under the age of 18
- 1 mile jog or walk, free under the age of 18
- Race shirt only virtual option
Online registration opens April 30. In person race registration closes May 31 and race shirt only registration closes September 19. Entry fees noted are $20 for the 5K, $15 for the 1 mile, and $20 for the shirt only option. Race entries are nonrefundable; race insurance is available during online registration.
Hydration stations will be available along the route and are provided by Studio Fit. A fall themed costume contest is part of the event. McDonald’s of the Gorge will provide coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Top three male and female 5K finishers will receive a medal and a pumpkin from Sandoz Farm. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrants by September 19 and will be available for pickup on October 2 or 3. Parking is limited; the main lot requires a State Parks parking fee or annual pass and street parking may require walking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
