Carver Old Home Day 5 Miler
The Carver Old Home Day 5-mile road race is part of the town's Old Home Day events at Shurtleff Park on Main Street in Carver, MA. The course leaves the park, loops through local back roads and bogs, and returns to Shurtleff Park. The event is organized by the Carver Old Home Day Association, a non-profit group that has presented the town celebration since 1901.
Online registration is available through the end of day on July 24 at 11:59 pm, and onsite registration is also offered. Registration pricing (Apr 16 - Jul 24) lists Adults 18+ at $35, Students 11-18 at $25, and Children 10 and under at $20.
Walkers are welcome. Running strollers start toward the back of the field. Dogs are not permitted. Race parking is located at Carver Elementary School, 85 Main Street; there is no race day parking or runner drop-off at Shurtleff Park. Participants should allow time to walk the 3/10 mile from the parking area to the park. An area will be available at the start/finish for bags and non-valuables.
Awards include overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers, first place in multiple age groups (10 & under; 11-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+), and awards for Carver residents. Race proceeds have funded scholarships for local high school students since 2013.
The road race occurs alongside other Old Home Day activities such as live music, handcrafted gifts, a classic car cruise, a horseshoe tournament, a clambake, and a fireworks display. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
