Carsington Hill Race

The Carsington Hill Race is an evening fell race held in Carsington Village. The event is part of the Carsington - Hopton Village Festival and is organized by Carsington - Hopton CARE to support the development of local village facilities. The race follows a course that covers approximately 9.5 km (6 miles) with a total ascent of 230 meters (775 feet).

The route consists of varied terrain, including steep hills, rough pasture, footpaths, and tracks. Participants will encounter two road crossings during the run. The course traverses an ancient mined landscape and passes modern turbines on Carsington Pasture, providing views of the Peak District and Carsington Water. The race concludes with a downhill finish.

The event operates under Fell Runners Association (FRA) rules. Registration takes place at the pavilion located at the school field on Back Lane. Following the race, food, cake, and bar services are available for participants at the pavilion.
