Event overview
The Carsington Hill Race takes place on Friday 22 May 2026 in Carsington Village, Derbyshire (venue: St Margaret’s Church / Village Hub, DE4 4DE). The race is part of the Carsington Village Festival and is organised by Carsington & Hopton CARE in aid of village facilities. Course and facilities
The route covers 9.5 km / 5.9 miles with ascent reported as 230 m (775 ft). The course tours an ancient mined landscape and passes modern turbines, with views across the Peak District and Carsington Water. Terrain includes steep hills, rough pasture, footpaths, tracks and two road crossings, and it finishes on a downhill section. Limited parking is available in the village; free parking is provided at Sheepwash car park (about 800 m from the venue). Food, cake and a bar are available afterward at the pavilion on the school field.

Pre-entry is available for a fee of £10.00 and entries on the day are accepted if places remain for a fee of £12.00. The event holds a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA.
