Carrera de las Catrinas : Round Lake Park
Carrera de las Catrinas is a community 5K run/walk held on November 1, 2026, at 329 Greenwood Dr, Round Lake Park, IL 60073, United States. The event is inspired by Día de los Muertos and is presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Lakes, Dementes Run Club, and Casa de la Cultura Lake County.
The event is family friendly and encourages participants to wear Catrina or Catrín-inspired attire. Proceeds from the event support scholarships for graduating seniors of Round Lake Senior High School. Tamales and champurrado are included with registration.
Registration opens August 20, 2026, and closes November 1, 2026. Registration fees as listed are $43.00 for participants 18 and over and $23.00 for participants 17 and under. Pre race day packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 5PM to 8PM at 121 E. Main Street, Round Lake Park, IL.
Age group awards are offered in these categories: 10 and under, 11–12, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
