The Carrauntoohil mountain race takes place in County Kerry on Sunday 6th September 2026. The course distance is 13.70 km with a total climb of 1,126 m. There is no short course. Mandatory kit and race rules

The mandatory kit for this event is Level C - Advanced and includes a waterproof jacket with integrated hood and taped seams; hat or buff; gloves; whistle; charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored; foil blanket or bivvy bag; waterproof full leg cover; means to carry at least 500 mL of water; emergency food; map of the route/area; and compass. All runners must carry the required items. The final kit to be carried may be confirmed at registration on the day, depending on conditions. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.
