Event overview
The Carolina Lakes Turkey Trot is a family-friendly 5k walk/run held at the Carolina Lakes clubhouse, 91 Clubhouse Drive, Sanford, NC. The event is for Carolina Lakes residents and their guests; the community is private and entry requires residency or a guest pass from a resident. Leashed pets are allowed on the course. A fall festival follows the run with community vendors and family activities.
Course, registration and services
The course is an out-and-back that begins in the clubhouse parking lot, continues onto Carolina Way, and includes a turnaround just past the intersection of Cedar and Canterbury before returning to the clubhouse. Online registration is available through Race Roster. Pricing shown in the event details includes an early bird rate of $30 for the first participant and $15 for each additional family member, and a later rate of $40 for the first participant and $20 for each additional family member. Student/team and family packages are offered (student/team requires a minimum of 10 racers). A processing fee of $4.09 is listed for registrations. A limited number of race shirts will be issued to the first 200 registrants before October 31; shirts may not be available for later registrations. Post-event offerings include a guided stretch with a CL yoga instructor, hot beverages and snacks from food trucks, and vendor activities for children and families.
