Carolina Lakes Turkey Trot
Carolina Lakes Turkey Trot is a community 5k run and walk plus a fall festival at the clubhouse in Sanford, North Carolina on November 21, 2026. The event is open to Carolina Lakes residents and their guests and uses an out and back course that begins in the clubhouse parking lot, turns right onto Carolina Way, and has a turnaround just past the intersection of Cedar and Canterbury before returning to the clubhouse for the finish.
After the run there is a community fall festival with food trucks offering hot beverages and snacks, community vendors, children's activities, and a post race stretch session led by the CL yoga instructor. Course maps, information about road closures, parking at the clubhouse, and sponsor information are provided by the organizers.
Registration pricing changes by date and by category. Early individual registration is $30 until October 31; late individual registration is $40 from November 1 through November 22. Family packages require payment for two full-price entries with additional family members at 50 percent off for groups of three to eight. Student and school team pricing requires a minimum of ten team members and is $15 per person for early registration and $20 per person for late registration. The first 175 racers who register before October 31 receive a race shirt; shirts are limited and may be unavailable after that date. Spots remaining are listed as 200.
