Carolina Lakes Turkey Trot '26
Carolina Lakes Turkey Trot '26 is a family friendly event held at the Carolina Lakes clubhouse in Sanford, North Carolina on November 21, 2026. The main running event is a 5k open to Carolina Lakes residents and their guests. The course is an out and back that starts in the clubhouse parking lot, turns right onto Carolina Way, reaches a halfway turnaround just past the intersection of Cedar and Canterbury, and returns to the clubhouse for the finish.
A fall festival follows the 5k. Festival features include food trucks offering hot beverages and snacks, community vendors, activities for children and families, and a post race stretch led by the CL Yoga instructor. Event parking and a course map are provided for participants and attendees.
Registration is tiered by date and group type. Early bird fees apply through October 31 and late registration fees apply from November 1 through November 21. Fee structure noted in the event details:
- Individual registration at early bird and late rates.
- Family package where two primary racers pay full price and additional family members receive 50 percent off; options described for families of three to eight.
- Student and school team pricing for groups registering together with a minimum of ten racers.
There is a limited number of race shirts: the first 175 registrants before October 31 will receive a shirt; registrants after November 1 may not receive a shirt if supplies are exhausted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
