Carnival 5k at Francis Olympic Field
The Carnival 5k takes place on April 4, 2026, at Francis Olympic Field on the Washington University Danforth Campus. The community run/walk is held as part of the ThurtenE Carnival season and partners with St. Louis Arc to raise awareness for that organization and its programming.
The 5,000 meter course starts and finishes on the track at Francis Olympic Field and consists of two laps around the Danforth Campus, passing through Brookings Quad and around Mudd Field. The course is mostly flat with a few mild hills and does not include any stairs. A course map is provided by the organizer.
Parking is available free of charge on race day at the Danforth University Center and on the top level of Snow Way Garage; parking locations are marked on the map. The event is officially chip timed and results will be posted online. Top male and female finishers in the student and faculty category and in the community member category each receive a sheet of carnival ride tickets.
Participants must bring a signed waiver or have previously submitted one; printed waivers will be available at check-in. The event will take place rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the event of a thunderstorm or other extreme weather. No animals are allowed except service animals. Registration is listed as open through March 30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
