Carnavaddy Event Details

The Carnavaddy event is a mountain run in Ravensdale Forest, County Louth, organized by the Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA). It offers two course options: a 10 km long course and a 5 km short course. The long course has 450 meters of climb.

The terrain is described as moderate. The route for the long course starts on a fire road, proceeds onto open mountain and single track, passes around Round Mountain, climbs to Castle Hill summit, continues to Carnavaddy, and finishes via Foyle's way. The short course follows part of the long course to Castle Hill before taking a separate track to the finish, with 300 meters of elevation.

A mandatory kit list includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone, and a foil blanket or equivalent. Random kit checks may be conducted. Registration and prizegiving are at The Lumpers Pub. Parking is in a disused quarry nearby, with charges based on car occupancy. Entry costs €7 for seniors and €5 for over-65s and under-18s. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
