Carl's 5K
Carl's 5K is a memorial Run/Walk held on October 10, 2026 at North Beach Oasis in Racine, WI. The event honors the life and running history of Carl Granetzke and features a certified 5K distance.
The course is an out and back that starts at the North Beach Oasis. Participants follow a paved bike trail heading north with views of Lake Michigan on the right, continue onto Michigan Boulevard, then turn around and return to the finish at the same location.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each five year age group. Every finisher receives a medal from Carl Granetzke's personal collection; the specific medal is selected at random. Additional finisher items include a commemorative lanyard pin in memory of Carl, a complimentary beer for participants over 21, a goodie bag, and entry into a post-race raffle.
Packet pickup is available at the North Beach Oasis on race day. Parking is available at the North Beach Oasis and in surrounding areas. The event is open to participants of all ages. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
