Capital City Pride Stride 5K
The Capital City Pride Stride 5K is an annual running and walking event held in Des Moines, Iowa. Taking place on the second day of the local PrideFest, the event serves as a celebration of diversity and acceptance, providing a space for community support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants who wish to walk, jog, or run the course. There are no specific qualification requirements, making it open to experienced runners and casual walkers alike. The race starts and finishes near the Pride Festival grounds on East Locust Street.
Participants have two opportunities to collect their race packets. An early pickup is available on the Thursday prior to the event at Single Speed Brewing on Scott Avenue. Alternatively, participants can collect their materials on the morning of the race at East 6th and Locust, located near the main stage of the Pride Festival.
