Event overview
The Cape Fear River Run takes place in Fayetteville, NC, with the start and finish at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden (536 N. Eastern Blvd). The event offers three options: a 10k, a Half Marathon (13.35 miles), and the River Rage Double, which combines both races. The course uses the Cape Fear River Trail and sections of the Linear Park Trail. Pets are not allowed.
The event includes on-course aid stations, a medal tent near the finish, and participant swag: 10k participants receive beanie hats and Half Marathon registrants receive a jacket or vest while supplies last. A packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Gaston Brewing Taproom and there is packet pickup on race day at the venue.
Courses and logistics
Course features include passing under trail trestles - the 10k passes under one trestle and the Half Marathon passes under two covered trestles and goes past a waterfall. The 10k has an aid station at the turnaround (2.83 miles) and a 90-minute course cutoff (about a 14:29 minute mile pace). The Half Marathon has aid at Clark Park (approximately 3.1 and 10.37 miles) and at the turnaround (6.78 miles) with a 3 hour 15 minute cutoff (about a 14:52 minute mile pace).
A limited VIP add-on (35 entrants) offers a private heated tent, VIP-only refreshments, bag storage, and a VIP packet pickup line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
