Event overview
The Cape Fear River Run takes place on November 8, 2026, in Fayetteville, NC (536 N. Eastern Blvd). The event offers three options: a 10k, a half marathon, and a combined River Rage Double where participants complete both races. The start and finish are at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. The course uses the paved Cape Fear River Trail and related greenway routes. On-course support is provided. Pets are not allowed.

The 10k route uses part of the Linear Park Trail and the Cape Fear River Trail and passes under one trail trestle. There is an aid station at the 2.83-mile turnaround. The half marathon route is 13.35 miles, passes under two covered trestles and by a waterfall, and has aid near Clark Park (around 3.1 and 10.37 miles) plus an aid station at the 6.78-mile turnaround. Runners who enter the River Rage Double run the 10k first, then the half marathon, and receive a bonus challenge medal for completing both. A medal tent will be located near the finish; each race will have unique bibs. A limited VIP add-on is available for up to 35 entrants and includes a private heated tent, VIP refreshments, bag storage, and an early packet pickup line.
