Cape Egmont Half Marathon - Taranaki
The Cape Egmont Half Marathon is an annual road running and walking event held in July. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday 12th July and uses a point to point course from Okato to Cape Egmont, finishing beside the Cape Egmont Lighthouse. Entrants may compete solo or as part of a two person relay.

The route passes through rural countryside and finishes at the lighthouse and nearby boat club area. Race services have included water stations along the route and portaloos at the team changeover. Withers Coachlines has provided transport from the finish back to Okato, and there is parking at the changeover on Newall Road. The event supports two local charities, the Taranaki Cancer Society and Gabby's Starlit Hope, and involves local sponsors and volunteers.
