Event Overview
The Cantigny 5K Run/Walk 2026 is a timed run and walk taking place on October 17, 2026 at the Cantigny estate in Wheaton, Illinois. The main event is a chip-timed 5K run/walk.
The event also includes two shorter runs for younger participants: a 1-mile run for ages 6-10 and a ¼-mile run for ages 0-5. Both of these youth runs are non-chipped.
Course & Location
The event is held at Cantigny, a 500-acre historic estate. The course tours the grounds of Cantigny and Cantigny Golf, passing by the gardens, the Robert R. McCormick House, and the First Division Museum. A note indicates that due to construction at the golf course, the course will be modified for this year's event.
Water stations are set up at the halfway mark and at the start/finish line. Digital clocks or timers are located at mile markers. Ample free parking is available near the Visitors Center and finish line.
Beneficiary & Registration
All proceeds from the event benefit the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, a not-for-profit transitional living facility in Wheaton. Registration for the 5K is tiered, starting at $25 and increasing as the event date approaches. Registration for the youth runs is $5 each.
Additional Details
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in each event. An American Legion pancake breakfast is available for purchase on-site. Event registration includes access to explore the Cantigny estate for the rest of the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
