Cantigny 5K Run/Walk 2026
The Cantigny 5K Run/Walk is a fundraising event for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans held on the Cantigny estate. The 5K course is USATF certified and runs entirely on Cantigny grounds on a blacktop surface. The route travels across the golf property via cart paths and passes Cantigny Gardens, the Robert R. McCormick House, and the First Division Museum. The course is modified this year because of construction on the golf course.
Timing and support details include chip timing for the 5K with a disposable timing chip provided in the participant packet and attached to the back of the bib. Digital clocks or timers will be located at mile markers. Water stations are located at the halfway point and at the start and finish areas.
Event distances:
- 5K chip timed on a certified course
- 1 mile non chipped run for ages 6 to 10
- 1/4 mile non chipped run for ages 0 to 5
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female overall finishers for the 5K and for the children's runs; awards are given only to registered runners with a valid chip and official results will be used for rankings. Ample parking is available near the Visitors Center and the finish area and parking fees are waived for registered participants picking up their packets. Wheeled vehicles except wheelchairs are not allowed on the course and will not be included in results; runners with baby strollers may not run competitively and must remain behind other runners.
